Safeguarding and Child Protection Courses

This is an introductory course for anyone who works with children or families in their paid or voluntary work. The aim of this course is to support individuals working with children and young people to become more effective at safeguarding children.

The course covers the basic safeguarding issues that everyone must know, but also looks in more depth at issues which are relevant to an educational setting. Everyone who comes into contact with students has a responsibility to help safeguard children. This course will help you to understand the role that you play.

This course provides advanced knowledge of child protection procedures and will help you to recognise and know what to do if you believe that a child is at risk. The course aims to provide advanced information on reporting strategies, policies and procedures. It also covers: how to make your working environment safe for children, including safe practices; what to do if you believe that a child is at risk; who to approach or report to; what actions to take and which legislation applies in this area.

It will look at the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead, information sharing, confidentiality, consent, prevent radicalisation and what we should expect from children’s social care to enable you to take on the role in your organisation.

This safer recruitment training is designed to help those who work with children and families to actively try to protect their welfare when selecting new people for the workforce.

The course is suitable for anyone who works with the recruitment, supervision and management of new employees or volunteers and must ensure that safeguarding children remains a top priority.

This Safeguarding Children course, specialising in online safety, is designed to help anyone who works with children understand the risks that may be encountered by the online generation. Internet safety for kids is an area that many professionals and parents wish they had a better understanding of, and this course aims to provide sufficient information to allow you to make informed choices, protect children from online dangers and ensure any issues are dealt with appropriately.

This Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Course is designed to provide an essential introduction for anyone who is new to the subject and act as a refresher for those who already work with vulnerable people in a paid or voluntary capacity.

Most adults live normal happy lives. However, for a number of unfortunate people, abuse is a reality and the effects can lead to great unhappiness and sometimes, tragedy.

In simple terms, abuse to adults exists and if you suspect that a person is abusing or being abused, your responsibility is to prevent it. Also, if you are working with vulnerable adults, you have a legal duty of care to intervene and this is fully supported by legislation.

This one day course will help you increase your knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse, and how this applies to working with children and young people. It will help you define domestic abuse, prevalence, myths & facts, the dynamics of control, the impacts on adults & children, asking the question and appropriate responses.
